Description
The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), Loan Guarantee Program Office, intends to award a six-month contract to Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle LLP. Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle is a current contractor with the DOE under contract number DE-CF0000040. This contract expires June 4, 2010. Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle was requested to complete two projects that were begun under their expiring contract. This contract does not extend the Curtis Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle expiring contract, rather it?s sole purpose is to finish the two projects already in progress. The DOE is using exemption to competition 6.302-1 One Responsible source to complete the work for an estimated $400,000. It is the DOE determination that using a firm other than Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle would prevent the DOE from meeting due dates for legal reviews of two loan guarantee applications that Curtis Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle already begun processing under their existing contract. This contract will be funded with Recovery Act funding and Non-Recovery Act funding. If a firm believes the DOE should not pursue this sole source to complete two existing projects then they may submit a letter of Intent stating why the DOE should consider this firm for this work. This is a notice of intent and not a request for competitive proposals. No solicitation is available for this requirement. Interested parties should submit a capability statement and pricing information for the requirement within (30) thirty calendar days of publication of this notice. A determination by the Government to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
