- SECTION 00010 - INVITATION TO BID Notice is hereby given that sealed bids for the construction of an addition to the Administrative/Classroom Building #22 on the campus of BURDICK JOB CORPS CENTER in Minot, North Dakota, will be received in the Conference Room of the Administrative Building at 1500 University Ave., Minot, ND, until 2:00 CDT on Tuesday, June 8th, 2010 and will then be publicly opened and read by the Owner. The project consists of an 1,800 square foot addition to the existing Administration/Classroom Building #22 to house a new Reference Library, an Office, and Mechanical Room. There is also miscellaneous remodeling work within the building and at the surrounding exterior site as shown on the construction documents. Proposals shall be on Bid forms furnished for that purpose. Plans, drawings and specifications for the construction of the above mentioned work will be on file and may be seen and examined at the office of Davison Larson Associates, 2705 - 4th Avenue NW, Minot, North Dakota and at the Builders Exchange at St. Paul and Minneapolis, Minnesota; Fargo, Bismarck, Grand Forks and Minot, North Dakota; Rapid City, South Dakota, McGraw Hill, 4530 W 77 St, Suite 350, Minneapolis, Minnesota 55435 and Construction Market Data 30 Technology Parkway S, Suite 500, Norcross, GA 30092-2912 as well as at the offices of the BURDICK JOB CORPS CENTER. Copies of the plans and specifications, together with all necessary forms and documents for bidders may be obtained from Davison Larson Associates at 2705 Fourth Avenue N.W., Minot, North Dakota. Plans may be obtained for the sum of $150.00 for each set of documents obtained, refundable to each person presenting a bona fide bid and returning the documents within 10 days after the date specified for receipt of bids. Sub-contractors and suppliers may purchase copies of plan sheets for $3.00 per sheet and specifications for $.30 per page, non-refundable. Each bid must be accompanied by a separate envelope containing a Bidder's Bond equal to five percent (5%) of the full amount of the bid, executed by the bidder as principal and by a surety company authorized to do business in this state, conditioned that if the principal's bid be accepted, and the contract awarded to him, he, within ten days after notice of award, will execute and effect a contract in accordance with the terms of his bid and a contractor's bond as required by law and the regulations and determinations of the governing board. The right to retain the deposit for the three lowest bidders for a period not to exceed 30 days from the opening date is hereby reserved. The deposit of the other unsuccessful bidders will be returned within a period of ten days after the bid opening. All bidders must be licensed for the highest amount of their bids, as provided by North Dakota Century Code, Section 43-07-05; and no bid will be read or considered which does not fully comply with the above provisions as to bond and licenses, and any deficient bid submitted will be resealed and returned to the bidder immediately. Current Davis Bacon Wage Rates for Ward County in North Dakota will apply to this project. The call for bids shall be on the basis of cash payment for the work performed. All bidders must comply with the Instructions to Bidders, Supplemental Instructions to Bidders and Special Conditions. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and waive informalities, and right to accept the bid they feel will be in their best interest.
