Description
The Northeast Fisheries Science Center, 212 Rogers Ave., Milford, CT 06460 is seeking quotes for one (1) automated alkalinity titrator for the determination of alkalinity in seawater. The specifications for the automated alkalinity titrator are as follows: 1) The automated alkalinity titrator must be able to titrate a sample volume of 40 to 50 mL. 2)The precision must be (1σ) or ± 2-3 µequiv/kg 3)With the use of certified reference materials the accuracy must be 0.1% or ± 2-3 µequiv/kg. 4)The analysis should typically take 10-12 minutes. 5)The pH meter/controller must collect at least 50 emf reading from the glass pH electrode at each titration point and compute the average. 6)The EMF reading must be accurate to ± 0.01 mV. 7)The motorized burette must be calibrated at five points across its 0-2 mL range, with a precision of volume dispensed of 0.01% or ±0.25 µliters. 8)The burette must have an accuracy of 0.02%. 9)Approximately 20 HCl volume-emf data pairs must be collected for each titration. 10)The software must compute the modified Gran function for the second equivalence point and solve for total alkalinity iteratively. 11)The supplier must have references that it is being used to calculate alkalinity in seawater. In order to comply with debt collection improvement act of 1966, all contractors must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database to be considered for an award by the Federal Government. For information regarding CCR please link to the CCR website at www.ccr.gov. The FSC is 6640 and the NAICS is 423490.
