- NASA/GRC has a requirement for a Single Mode Microwave System in accordance withthe specifications as listed below.Specifications for a Single Mode Microwave System:1. Turnkey system2. Capable in separating electric and magnetic field3. Capable in achieving a temperature of 1100 degrees celsius or higher4. Capable to accept a fused quartz tube for inert atmosphere5. Capable to accept a 6-19 mm diameter sample with a 2-20 mm height6. Frequency 2.45 GHz7. Capable in producing standing wave patterns8. Capable in traveling wave operation9. Continuous microwave power level control10. Variable attenuator for constant frequency operation11. Sample temperature measurement - 2 color optical pyrometer12. Supplied with water chiller for cooling13. Mechanical stands for equipment and instruments14. Operational manual15. Ports for access to higher and lower electric and magnetic field regions16. 110/120 Volts or 208/220/240 Volts, 50/60 Hz, single phase17. Supplied with power meter18. Supplied with a microwave leakage detector19. System tested prior to delivery20. Onsite installation/trainingEnd of specificationsThis notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared inaccordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additionalinformation included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the onlysolicitation, which is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ); quotes are beingrequested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Offerors are required to usethe On-Line RFQ system to submit their quote. The On-line RFQ system is linked above orit may be accessed at http://prod.nais.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/eps/bizops.cgi?gr=C&pin=. Theinformation required by FAR Subpart 12.6 is included in the on-line RFQ.The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12 and the SimplifiedAcquisition Procedures set forth in FAR Part 13.Questions regarding this acquisition must be submitted in writing (e-mail is preferred)no later than May 19, 2010. (Prospective quoters shall notify this office of theirintent to submit a quotation.) It is the quoter's responsibility to monitor this site forthe release of amendments (if any).
