- BRAINARD LAKE WATER SYSTEM -- This project consists of the reconstruction of the Pawnee Campground Water System. Work consists of modification of an existing potable water well, replacement of the pump and pump house, storage tank and seven hydrants. Work includes but is not limited to: (1) removal, disposal, and backfilling of existing well house, water, underground storage tank, generator, hydrants, drains, valves, and valve boxes; (2) removal of the existing submersible well pump and appurtenances; (3) installation of a new submersible well pump, controls and appurtenances, new well house, above ground storage tank, generator, hydrants, drains, valves and valve boxes; (4) piping and appurtanances for potable-water service outside the buildings, installation of a support post, concrete pad, riprap and hydrant. Work also includes grading and shaping the approach apron to the hydrant pad; (5) all labor and miscellaneous materials required for a complete and operable system. All questions shall be submitted in writing to Beverly Thompson at beverlythompson@fs.fed.us up to ten days prior to bid opening and answers will be posted to FBO. The location for this project is the Pawnee Campground which is located on the Boulder Ranger District, Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forest and Pawnee National Grassland in Boulder County. The campground may be reached, in general, from Boulder by travelling north along State Highway 36 then west on Left Hand Canyon Road approximately 9 miles to Ward, Colorado. Then travel northeast on State Highway 72 approximately 500 feet and travel west National Forest Service Road 112 (Brainard Lake Road). Then travel approximately 4.5 miles to the Pawnee Campground. A pre-bid meeting will be conducted DATE AND TIME TO BE DETERMINED WHEN SOLICITATION PACKAGE IS ISSUED. Participants will meet at the Boulder Ranger District, 2140 Yarmouth Ave, Boulder Colorado. Performance and payment bonds will be required per the Miller Act and Davis Bacon wage rates will apply. All responsible sources may submit a bid which will be considered by the Government. In accordance with FAR 4.1102(a), prospective contractors must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database prior to award of a contract. Lack of registration in the CCR on part of the offeror will render an offeror ineligible for award. Offerors may obtain information on registration and annual confirmation requirements by calling 888-227-2423 or via the Internet at http://www.ccr.gov//. The response date has been corrected to match what is on the SF 1442 that is posted with this solicitation. The response date is May 17, 2010 at 2:00 pm mountain time.
