- Recovery-NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) negotiated a sub-Task Order withNorthrop Grumman Information Technologies (NG) under an existing Task Order in an effortto assist the NASA GSFC in creating images and movies of NASA's Earth Science data forspecial displays such as planetariums and 3D theaters. It also acquires support toidentify problem issues with the computer systems used to create these images and moviesfor GSFC and resolve those issues. (NG shall NOT be responsible for purchasing andinstalling the new equipment to create and distribute those visualizations, but this taskwill help set up and troubleshoot the new equipment ALREADY acquired.) This work is performed for the GSFC Software Integration and Visualization Office throughthe date of award through 26 weeks to completion. <P>The existing Task Order is a Cost-Plus-Award-Fee (CPAF)arrangement awarded to NG 10/2005which was awarded on a competitive basis. CPAF was determined appropriate because thecontract is for the performance of research and development effort, and uncertaintiesinvolved in contract performance do not permit costs to be estimated with sufficientaccuracy to use any type of fixed-price contract arrangement.
