Description
The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. The Government plans to award a purchase order to Microwave Telemetry, Inc., 8835 Columbia 100 Parkway Suite K&L, Columbia, MD 21045-2147for PTT-10 30 gram solar-powered Argos/GPS Satellite transmitters. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposal received within five days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. 10- Argos/GPS 30 gram Solar powered GPS PTT 100 Transmitter Specifications: Dimensions: L 2.45" (62) x W 0.87" (22) x H 0.85" (21) (mm) Weight: 30 grams Antenna: Hard nylon coated flexible stranded marine grade stainless steel, 7" (178 mm) long, protruding from the back edge of the transmitter 45 degrees to the bottom face. Construction: Lightweight glass-reinforced epoxy composite material, plated on the inside with a continuous metal coating. The final seal is a metal-to metal solder. Hermetically sealed to deter the effects of changes in temperature and humidity. Sensors: Includes sensors to measure temperature, battery voltage, animal activity, as well as a twelve channel GPS receiver that senses position, altitude, heading and speed. The maximum altitude is 2047m; the maximum speed in 127 km/h. General Electrical Specifications: Operating frequency: 401.650 MHz ± 36 kHz Power output: 200m W output is standard Output impedance: 50 ohms Modulation Tri Phase PSK: ± 1.1 Rad ± 0.1 Rad Quiescent current: <31lA Spurious emissions: -45 dB Transmission interval: 45 to 120 sec Supply voltage: 3.6 - 4 volts Operating temperature range: -15 to 45 Deg C ARGOS/GPS capable unit must have greater than 1 year of battery life
