Description
This is a Sources Sought Notice. This is not a Request for Proposals, no solicitation document exits. Responses to this sources sought notice will not serve as proposals, bids or offers, which could be accepted by the government to form a binding contract. Any information provided to the Government is strictly voluntary and will be provided at no cost to the Government. The purpose of this sources sought notice is to conduct market research information about vendors who are capable of implementing a total solid waste management solution at no initial cost or based on a cost saving contract. The market research information resulting from this sources sought will be used to assist in determining the acquisition strategy for the upcoming competition. A total solid waste management solution would incorporate a Contractor to identify waste streams, increase recyclable volumes and revenues, and reduce solid waste volumes, pickups, container size and overall costs. Sites are located in the Virginia, West Virginia and North Carolina areas. Multiple awards are an option. Primary recyclable materials at these facilities include cardboard, paper, wood pallets, metals, cans, bottles, etc. Primary non-recyclable materials being produced at the facility include compacted and non-compacted solid waste. Contractors are also welcome to provide hazardous waste proposals. VISN6 invites all interested parties to submit a written response to this sources sought notice. Specifically, the written response needs to address the offerors services in providing solid waste management solutions. The response shall not exceed 25 pages and should not contain marketing/advertising information. The government will consider the responses to this sources sought notice and may issue a formal solicitation at a date to be determined. After review of the responses to this announcement, should the government decide to issue a solicitation announcement it will be published in the Federal Business Opportunity for this service. All interested offerors will have the opportunity to respond to solicitation announcements. All responses to this Sources Sought announcement shall include Company Name and address. Please do not call the Contracting Officer for information. Responses must be provided no later than June 11, 2010. No extensions will be granted. This notice is to assist VISN6 in determining potential sources. The responses to this Sources Sought synopsis must be in writing and are to be forwarded via email to ray.weldon@va.gov on or before 3:00 p.m. (EST) June 11, 2010.
