Synopsis: Please note that this is NOT a request for quotes or proposals, the Government is seeking information for market research purposes only. The Government may or may not issue solicitation documents. The Department of Veterans Affairs, VA New York Harbor Healthcare System is conducting a market survey for qualified firms capable of providing resiliency training as outlined below. Applicable NAICS Code is 621330, with a size standard of $7.0 million. Responses to this notice must be submitted in writing (email or fax is acceptable) and received not later than May 18, 2010 by 12:00pm. No telephone inquiries will be accepted. OF VETERANS AFFAIRS MEDICAL CENTER 79 MIDDLEVILLE ROAD NORTHPORT, NY 11768 is seeking a contract to provide a comprehensive and supportive resilience training program for the Operation Enduring Freedom/Operation Iraqi Freedom (OEF/OIF) staff at each of medical facilities within the network. The training will consist of three phases: "an initial two day educational and interactive program, "an ongoing (one year) peer support service, and "a train-the-trainer program for sustainability The appropriate contractor for this program demonstrates the following characteristics: a.Recognized expertise in resiliency and trauma. To increase the credibility of the program, the successful offeror must have earned recognition as an expert trainer in federal and private sector. Must have published literature on the topics to be covered. The successful offeror will provide client lists, reference and bibliography of published works to demonstrate his or her proven record in this field. b.Teaching ability. The successful offeror must have a proven record of successful teaching of this and similar topics, using adult learning theories. Must have actually worked as an instructor to healthcare personnel, and have available data or ratings illustrating success in teaching these personnel. c.In order to maintain a consistent standard of presentation skills, the ideal contractor will have previously delivered presentations to government agencies, emergency management programs, healthcare facilities, school systems, universities and non-profit social service organizations. d.Experience of providing a comprehensive curricula/program regarding resiliency and trauma, The purpose of this notice is to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources and their size classification (service disabled veteran owned small business, veteran owned small business, Hub Zone, 8(a), small disadvantaged business, small business, or large business) relative to NAICS 621330 (size standard of $7.0 million). Responses to this notice will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. Responses to this notice should include company/individual name, a service capability statement, examples of similar facilities which you have provided services to, DUNS number, address, point of contact and the size of your business pursuant to the following questions; (1) Is your business large or small? (2) If small, does your firm qualify as a small, emerging business? (3) If disadvantaged, specify under which disadvantaged group and if your firm is certified under Section 8(a) of the Small Business Act? (4) Is your firm a certified Hub Zone firm? (5) Is your firm a woman-owned or operated business? (6) Is your firm a certified Service-Disabled Veteran Owned or Veteran Owned Small Business? Responses to this notice must be submitted in writing (email or fax) and received not later than May 18, 2010 by 12:00pm. No telephone inquiries will be accepted.
