- Description
- NASA HQ plans to issues a Modification to extend an existing contractual agreementby 5 months for continued performance for the NASA Student Ambassadors Virtual Community(NSAVC) web communication tool contract. The NSAVC is a communication tool, which isdesigned to enhance science and technology competencies and research skill developmentwith a greater likelihood of student successfully completing degrees in science,technology, mathematics, and engineering (STEM) disciplines and entering the NASAworkforce. The virtual community allows the Office of Education to implementcommunication and program management strategies shared with the Office of Management andBudget (OMB) and the Office of the NASA Administrator that related to intensifyingoutreach via virtual communication to the 18 to 'thirty-something' year old STEMpopulation. NASA Headquarters is currently processing the follow-on procurement which will be awardedon a competitive basis. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP).The authority is FAR 6.302-1 only one responsible source.The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform theeffort in writing, by FAX or E-Mail, to the identified point of contact not later than11:00 a.m. (EST.) on April 12, 2010. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluatedsolely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on acompetitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed efforton a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solelywithin the discretion of the government.
