Description
RECOVERY - This action is funded through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Actof 2009. Task 087-R.1 (ARP) is a faculty and student research and development effort thatis aligned to the core work of task 087-R. This work is part of the Aligned ResearchProgram (ARP) under the contract. The purpose of task 087-R is to provide systemsengineering and system integration to assist in the development of a follow-on instrumentto the MODIS Airborne Simulator (MAS). The Enhanced MAS or EMAS will provide importantmeasurements in support of ongoing calibration and validation activities for the MODISinstruments, while supporting the development of algorithms for future spacebornesystems. The system will be composed of 3 subsystems that together will provide highquality measurements of atmospheric constituents by measuring absorption, scattering andreflectance of incoming solar radiation. This new system might eventually replace NASAsMODIS Airborne Simulator (MAS) with higher quality measurements than are currentlyavailable within the agency. The Aligned Research Program work covered by this award isentitled, Development of a Vicarious Calibration Program for the E-MAS HyperspectralImager. This award notice is for INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. The task order is issued under anexisting Cost-Plus-Award-Fee contract NAS2-03144, which was made on a competitive basis.Due to the variability of this research and development work a Cost-Plus-Award-Fee taskorder was determined appropriate.
