- Description
- The government intends to acquire a type 4, model 448 fire apparatus for mounting on a government furnished cab and chassis. This presolicitation invites all qualified HUBZone small business concerns to express an interest in bidding on this project. Responses received, in part, will determine whether the project is pursued as a HUBZone set aside. The applicable NAICS code is 336211 – Motor Vehicle Body Manufacturing - and the small business size standard is 1,000 employees. The scope of work may include, but is not limited to, all labor, supervision, tools, materials, and equipment necessary to manufacture and marry the fire apparatus to the government supplied cab and chassis. The period of performance will be 120 days from the start work date, which is expected to be on or around July 1, 2010. A Request for Quote (RFQ) will be issued on this web site on or around May 24, 2010. All responsible sources that submit an offer will be considered. Award will be made on the basis of price. Those HUBZone firms that intend to submit an offer for this solicitation must submit the below information by e-mail to ericwilsey@fs.fed.us or by fax to 360.891.5081 by 3:30 p.m. Pacific time on May 19, 2010. (Note: Should you fail to respond by this deadline, you may still submit a quote in response to the RFQ.) Your submission must include ALL of the following: 1. A positive statement of your intention to submit an offer for this solicitation as a prime contractor; 2. Your date of HUBZone small business certification; 3. A listing of your experience in work of similar type and scope, including contract numbers, project titles, dollar amounts, and the names and phone numbers of points of contact for the contracting entity; 4. Explain how you will meet the requirement to spend at least 50 percent of the cost of the contract performance incurred for personnel on your company’s employees or on employees from other certified HUBZone small business concerns. This agency will NOT contact respondents for missing data, so it is imperative that you include sufficient detail on all of the above points.
