Description
The U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC), National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Marine Fisheries, located in Miami, FL intends to acquire 30 Satellite Tags:. DESC: Provide 30 Satellite Tags: One of the Southeast Fisheries Science Center's methods of performing sea turtle research is the use of satellite telemetry. We use satellite tags to assess annual survival rates, determine the impact of fisheries interactions, and spatial distribution of sea turtles. Objectives • Perform research on sea turtles using satellite tags to understand surfacing behavior in the Southeast U.S. Atlantic waters. Scope The SEFSC will be able to efficiently order satellite tags for on-going sea turtle research. To be considered interested parties must be able to demonstrate their ability to provide tags that meets the following specification: The minimum functional requirements: 1. Specifications: • depth accuracy of 1% or better, measurable between 0-1000 m with a resolution of 0.5 m • temperature accuracy of 1% or better, measurable from 0 to +60 deg. C with a resolution of 0.05C • on-board real-time clock temperature-compensated to accurately time data readings • fully controllable and upgradeable onboard software; all parameters are user-programmable user-controllable start up of tag without computer link, once the tag has been To be considered, firms must furnish detailed information concerning their capability to provide the supply and satisfy or exceed the Government's needs. Such information shall include, at a minimum, name, telephone number and address of concerns for whom you have furnished this supply previously, and detailed narrative that described your facility and ability to provide this supply. Interested parties must respond within (5) days after publication of this notice. The government knows of only one source. The government invites firms that believe they have the capability to meet the requirement to response, providing specific information that will enable the government to determine whether or not to compete the requirement.
