- This Pre-Solicitation Notice is being issued by the United States Army Corps of Engineers - Chicago District to inform interested/potential contractors of the District's imminent issue of an Invitation for Bids to obtain construction services for the "INDIANA HARBOR and CANAL CONFINED DISPOSAL FACILITY - SOUTH END FEATURES. PROJECT INFORMATION: Under the contract set, the Contractor will be responsible for providing all necessary labor, transportation, materials, and equipment in the construction of the support facilities ancillary to the CDF itself, including site security features, an administrative building, maintenance and storage facilities, parking lot, access roads, water main, sanitary tank, and storm sewer installation, decontamination station and a pad to be used for a package waste water treatment plant ACQUISITION INFORMATION: Competition for this acquisition is RESTRICTED to SMALL BUSINESS (8) (a) PROGRAM CONCERNS. The Classification Code for this procurement is North American Industry System Code 237990, which applies a small business size standard in dollars of $33.5M. The magnitude of cost for this construction project is estimated between $5,000,000 Million and $10,000,000 Million. The Invitation for Bids (IFB) Package will be downloadable from the INTERNET ONLY. The project specification files are Portable Document Format (PDF) files and can be viewed navigated or printed using Adobe Acrobat Reader. Interested Bidders can download the IFB Package from the Internet Site http://www. Fbo.gov. The IFB will be available at the above-mentioned Internet site on 13 May 2010. The due date for bids will be on 15 June 2010 at 2:00 pm CDT. In order for contractors to be awarded contracts with the Department of Defense, the contractor must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR); Contractors can access the CCR for free at http//www.ccr.gov. The Government intends to award a firm-fixed price construction contract from this acquisition. Request for solicitation packages made by telephone, fax or e-mail will not be honored.
