Description
ROLLOVER DETECTION DEVICE - INCLINOMETER This RFI is to determine if there are suppliers who can satisfy the Government request below. THIS IS NOT AN INVITATION OR REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL (RFP) AND NO PROPOSALS WILL BE ACCEPTED BASED ON THIS REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI). The Joint Program Office for Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicles is soliciting information from companies who may possess or are capable of producing a device that detects conditions where the danger of rollover is significant, and alerts the MRAP vehicle operators with both audible and visual cues. REQUIREMENTS: The device: 1) should detect the conditions where the danger of rollover is significant, and alert the vehicle operator with both audible and visual cues. 2) Shall be calibrated to provide a significant factor of safety for road, load and climatic conditions. 3) Should operate within a temperature range of -25F to 130F and at elevations ranging from 0 to 12,000 feet above sea level. This procurement effort may procure approximately three thousand (3000) devices with an option to procure additional devices. When acceptable devices are found, potential vendors will be required to provide the system as an installation kit, complete with drawings and all power and control cable harnesses, all mounting hardware and brackets, step-by-step installation instructions, technical manual containing troubleshooting instructions and preventive maintenance procedures. SUBMISSION REQUIREMENT: It is anticipated the United States Marine Corps, JPO MRAP, will conduct an open solicitation based on the results of this Request for Information. It is recommended that interested sources identify their interest and capability to meet the requirements by submitting (1) one sample device, description of company, technical data, any performance specifications, simple drawings, brochures, unit costs, and past performance summaries directly addressing their ability to meet aforementioned needs. Response not to exceed ten (10) pages in length. Interested companies are required to be of US origin. Companies are to state their business size and NAICS Code. All interested parties need to identify a point of contact including, name, email and phone number. Please forward information to Fred Cartes, Contract Specialist, 50 Tech Parkway, Suite 203, Rm 209, Stafford VA 22556.
