Description
The U. S. Army Contracting Command (ACC), Joint Munitions & Lethality (JM&L)Contracting Center, Picatinny Arsenal, N.J.07806-5000 in support of the U.S. Army Armament Research, Development, and Engineering Center (ARDEC), Picatinny Arsenal is conducting market research to locate capable firms to provide the following Tri-Axial Accelerometers: Five (5) Tri-Axial Accelerometers with twenty (20) additional procurement options of five (5) per option (Total 105 ea.). The Tri-Axial Accelerometer must be High G designed for shock measurements in three directions up to 60KG's with frequency response up to 50kHz. A Leadless Chip Carrier package must be designed for surface mount attachment to circuit boards. A highly efficient sensing system must be sculpted from single crystal silicon, which includes the inertial masses and strain gages arranged in a four-active-arm Wheatstone bridge circuit for each axis. An extremely small size and unique construction of the elements must allow exceptionally high resonant frequencies suitable for harsh environments in support of the EXCALIBUR testing projectile program. The Government anticipates soliciting offerors for award of a Firm Fixed Price contract to deliver the Tri-Axial Accelerometers requirements. It is anticipated that one commercial contract will be awarded for a basic period of one year with twenty options that may be exercised to extend the contract for an additional three year period. The following approximate quantities represent the deliveries required: Five (5) Tri-Axial Accelerometers two months after award; with twenty (20) additional bi-monthly procurement options to begin one year after purchase order award with increments of (5) five per option. Firms shall provide technical data with their submission. Brochures or manuals may be submitted. Request any other specific and pertinent information as pertains to this particular procurement that would enhance our consideration and evaluation of the information submitted. There are four (4) questions in addition to the above that the Government would like possible contractors to provide for evaluation: 1) What products are they proposing for our application, 2) Their products should be direct replacement for our application to meet our specifications and requirements. If NOT, how long will they take to redesign their products, 3) What is the cost for their products, and 4) Can they meet our delivery schedule. This market survey is for informational and planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a request for proposal or as an obligation on the part of the US Government. The Government will not reimburse any respondent for any effort or information submitted in response to this sources sought. All information submitted will be held in a confidential status and will not be returned. The contractor shall provide all information requested in this notification by 6 May 2010 by electronic mail at no cost to the Government, to michael.anthony7@us.army.mil. Telephone (973) 724-3432. TELEPHONE INQUIRIES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. The Government will accept written questions by email. If a formal solicitation is generated at a later date, a solicitation notice will be published. No award will be made as a result of this market survey. The point of contact for this action is Mr. Michael Anthony, Contract Specialist, CCJM-CA, (973)724-3432.
