- RECOVERY ACT - In compliance with the transparency and accountability requirements associated with the supplemental appropriations provided by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, Pub.L. 111-5, The Department of Veterans Affairs at the VA Medical Center, 2501 W 22nd Street, Sioux Falls, SD 57105 is seeking contractors to submit proposals for the project entitled "Replace Automatic Doors". Project Description: Provide all materials, labor, parts, and equipment necessary to complete project 438-10-121 "Replace Automatic Doors", in accordance with the plans and specifications. The contractor shall provide all resources necessary to accomplish the deliverables described in this statement of work (SOW), except as may otherwise be specified. The automatic doors to be replaced will be placed in three locations at the Sioux Falls VA Hospital: Connecting corridor entrance, center entrance to Building 1, and ambulance entrance. These three locations will include 7 sliding doors, 3 sets enclosing a vestibule at each entrance, and a single door enclosing the Ambulance Garage. In conjunction with sliding glass doors R-rated as at least 3, electronic controls will be required which will employ sensing eye technology. These locations are described graphically and pictorially in the attached documents. All work shall be completed to maintain compliance with the most current version of all applicable codes including, but not limited to NFPA 101, International Building Code and VA Barrier Free Design Guide. the Project duration is expected to be 180 days from the date of receipt of the notice to proceed. Electronic solicitation documents will be made available in electronic format only through the VA website at: http://www.fedbizopps.gov. It is recommended that you complete the solicitation mailing list on the website before downloading the solicitation. This procurement is 100% set-aside for SERVICE DISABLED VETERAN OWNED SMALL BUSINESS (SDVOSB). Prospective contractors must be registered and current in the following websites: http://www.vip.vetbiz.gov;, http://www.ccr.gov;, and https://orca.bpn.gov to be eligible for award. Invitations for Bids will be accepted from only responsible and responsive contractors The firm must be a General Construction firm approved under NAICS code 236220-size standard is $33.5 million. Bid Bond will be required in the amount of 20% of bid, and Performance and Payment bonds will be required upon award of contract. The estimated dollar value of this procurement is between $100,000.00 and $200,000. Specifications and drawings will be uploaded on or about April 30, 2010.
