The Maintenance Kit, Air is also referred to as a Latch Test Set. Thisitem is a compact instrument used for testing C-130 aerial deliverysystem right hand variable restraint latches. The latch tester isapproximately 24 inches long and weighs approximately 26 lbs. A handleon the latch tester is used to carry the tester and to facilitatemounting the unit to the cargo system's vertical restraint rail. Thelatch tester is provided with a carrying case for transportation andstorage. This requirement is for a quantity of 8 EA in the basic year,and includes two (2) option periods. Option I is for a quantity rangeof 1-11 EA and is valid for 365 days. Option II is for a quantity rangeof 1-10 EA and is valid for 730 days. The options may be exercised forAir Force or Foreign Military Sales requirements. The places ofdelivery for Item 0001 are noted above. Item 0001 is due 270 days AROContract. There are no drawings/data available. The approximate RFPissue date will be Thursday, 13 May 2010. Proposals will be due onMonday, 14 June 2010. This acquisition is sole source to AAR Mfg Inc.DBA AAR Cargo Systems (81868) IAW FAR 6.302-1, Only One or a LimitedNumber of Responsible Sources, and No Other Supplies or Services WillSatisfy Agency Requirements. All questions regarding this RFP must besubmitted in writing to Krystle.Wilkerson@robins.af.mil with a copy toDawn.McCurdy@robins.af.mil. NO TELEPHONE QUESTIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED.The anticipated award date is 20 July 2010. Based upon market research,the Government is not using policies contained in Part 12, Acquisitionof Commercial Items, in its solicitation for the described supplies.However, interested parties may identify their interest and capabilityto satisfy the Government's requirement with a commercial item, to thecontracting officer, within 15 days of this notice.
