- Red River Army Depot has a requirement to shrink wrap bridge erection boats on site at Red River Army Depot, Texarkana, TX 75507-5000. The boats are identified as follows: 1940-01-218-9165 MKII and 1940-01-547-4940 M2R. They are approximately 8 FT wide X 29 FT long. The contractor will be required to furnish personnel, materials and labor necessary to accomplish this task. The shrink wrapping process will entail the following: 1. Assess Boat for sharp edges and corners 2. Apply and tape adequate padding on sharp corners to protect boat 3. Install a minimum of 2 upright padded covered posts to corners of boat to prevent shrink wrap from sagging during shipment 4. Stretch a minimum of 8 ml shrink wrap over boat and fold and crease where necessary 5. Trim and tape with preservation tape all around edge of boat 6. Proceed to shrink wrap cover tightly 7. Inspect shrink wrap cover, checking for holes and manufacturing defects of material 8. Repair any defects in shrink wrapping after inspection 9. Finish taping with preservation tape. The solicitation will result in a firm fixed price requirements contract for a base and two option years. The estimated quantities and periods of performance are as follows: 51 each June - Sept 2010; 72 each Oct 2010 - Sept 2011; 72 each Oct 2011 - Sept 2012. This acquisition is 100% set-aside for Small Business Concerns. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS code is 561910 and the size standard is $7,000,000.00. This acquisition will be conducted in accordance with FAR 12 Acquisition of Commercial Items and FAR 15 Contracting by Negotiation. It is anticipated that Request for Proposal W911RQ-10-R-0012 will issue on or about 3 May, 2010. The RFP and any amendments will be posted on this site and also at https://www.redriver.army.mil. The bid closing date is 21 May, 2010, 5:00 PM Central Time. It is anticipated that the award will be made on or before 28 May 2010.
