Description
Flame Resistant Uniform Unit level Repair Patch Kit, The U.S. Army Natick Soldier Research, Development & Engineering Center (NSRDEC), Natick, MA, Clothing and Configuration Management Team on behalf of the Product Manager, Soldier Clothing and Individual Equipment have identified a need for a patch kit that has the capability to provide Infer Red (IR)/Flame Resistance (FR) protection in a self contained kit. IR/FR Uniform Repair Kit must contain 8 patches (2 3x3,2 4x4, 2 5x5, and 2 5x7 inch kits) made of self adhesive Fire Resistant material that are intended to be used to repair Flame Resistant Multi Cam & UCP uniform items. These IR/FR Uniform Repair Patch is intended to provide a quick, simple means of repairing rips and tears that can be supplied with a garment in case of the need for repairs in the field. It should be made of flame resistant fabric printed in the UCP camouflage pattern or Multi Cam camouflage pattern, coated on the back with a Flame Resistant Pressure Sensitive Adhesive (FR-PSA) and meet all IR/FR requirements of the FR fabric ( GL-PD-07-12, REV. 3). The FR-PSA will be covered with an appropriate release liner and packaged in a plastic bag. The patch system should adhere to the FR Army Combat Uniform (FR-ACU), the Improved Combat Vehicle Crewman Coverall (ICVC) and the Aviation Aircrew Combat Uniform (A2CU) or other flame resistant clothing items, covering any holes, rips or tears. Application of the IR/FR Uniform Repair Patches must be able to be accomplished without the need of any special tools other than a hard spoon-like instrument. After application, the patch must comply with shade, NIR and flammability requirement, withstand repeated garment launderings and must not degrade any properties of the garment. The intentions of this RFI are to investigate qualifying producers of patch kits as described above. The government is conducting this market investigation to acquire information on the types and sizes of businesses that will be able to compete on future contracting actions, potential costs, as well as delivery capabilities. Interested firms that have a technology that can meet this requirements are requested to submit relevant information on their company and product within ten (10) days following the publication of this RFI. Any relevant company background/experience, business category, costs, and any other information that the company believes demonstrates their value / ability to meet the aforementioned requirements should be included. Respondents must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database and provide a DUNS number. Firms may register for CCR at www.ccr.gov. All information and evaluation results will be controlled and used for governmental purposes only.
