Description
NCI/ATPI Potential Partnership Opportunities The National Cancer Institute (NCI) has launched a new initiative to speed the translation of research discoveries into new treatments for patients with cancer and AIDS. The Advanced Technology Partnerships Initiative (ATPI) is intended to establish effective partnerships with academic research institutions, life-science companies, and nonprofit research organizations. Through these collaborations, partners may leverage technologies and financial resources to achieve together what may be difficult or impossible to achieve independently. SAIC-Frederick, as the Operations and Technical Support Contractor for the NCI, is seeking letters of interest from potential ATPI partners describing their organizations strategic planning initiatives and future business development models and how those plans may fit within the strategic goals of the ATPI. Potential collaborations and partnerships may exist, but may not be limited to, the following areas; • Cancer drug discover & development • Genomics & genetics • Proteomics • Nanotechnology • Advanced biomedical computing • In-vivo cancer models • Biopharmaceutical development • Biomarker development and validation • Molecular diagnostics • Molecular profiling
