- Description
- The USDA NRCS in New York is preparing to issue a solicitation for work authorized under the Emergency Watershed Protection Program due to heavy rain in August of 2009 with resultant flooding conditions. The work is to relieve imminent hazards to life and property. The work consists of site dewatering; erosion and sediment control; installation of approximately 250 linear feet (1330 tons) of heavy stone fill on a 1:2 slope with 3 ft. x 3 ft. toe and an average height of 16 feet; the construction of (3) grade control sills with side riprap slope protection (730 tons each); and reconstruction of three existing rock grade stabilization structures (with addition of 300 tons of heavy stone fill) to stabilize the stream bed and banks as well as seeding and bio-technical plantings to protect the North Bridge along the West Branch of Cazenovia Creek at Kissing Bridge Ski Area in the Town of Concord, Erie County, New York. A bid guarantee will be required with all bids. Performance and Payment Bonds in the amount of 100% will be required within 5 calendar days of award of contract. The location of the work sites will be within the flooded areas and as described in the solicitations. All necessary permits and land rights will be acquired. A firm-fixed price award is anticipated under the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. The solicitation package, construction drawings and specifications will be posted and available from this site on or about May 26, 2010. Estimated dates for bid opening will be on or about June 24, 2010, and project completion by August 30, 2010. A pre-bid site showing is being planned and will be specified in the solicitation package. Price Range is between $100,000 to $250,000.
