Description
The Marine Corps Systems Command, Quantico, VA intends to award a Firm Fixed Price, Sole Source contract to BAE Systems Land & Armaments, 9113 Le Saint Drive, Fairfield, OH 45014 for Generation II Battery Powered Motorized Traversing Units (BPMTU) (G2MTU) Retrofit Kits, consisting of the M1114/BPMTU assembly. BAE is the current provider of the M1114 turret ring/BPMTU assembly and the exclusive designer of these retrofit kits, which will take a vehicle presently equipped with a BPMTU and convert it to a G2MTU. The G2MTU is better designed to handle the uneven weight distribution of the turrets often found on MRAPs and M-ATVs when operating within the terrain and mission profiles encountered in Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF). Estimated letter contract award date is 05 May 2010. Estimated total contract value is $52,800,000. Deliveries will be required to begin within 14-18 weeks after letter contract award. Duration of the contract will be twelve (12) months. The North American Industry Classification (NAICS) Code is 336992, Armored military vehicles (except tanks) and parts Manufacturing. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals. However, interested parties may identify their interest and capability to meet the requirements by submitting a white paper, technical data for the item, and past performance data no later than 04 May 2010, to LaWanda Morton, Marine Corps Systems Command, 50 Tech Parkway, Suite 203, Stafford, VA 22556, or lawanda.morton@usmc.mil. Responses received by 04 May 2010 will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open basis is solely within the discretion of the Government. All contractors who provide goods/services to the DoD must be registered in the Central Contractor Register (CCR). Online Certifications and Representations at (ORCA), http://orca.bpn.gov, will also be required. Failure to comply with ORCA registration may make a vendor offeror ineligible for award.
