Description
Replacement of research greenhouse mechanical systems (National Clonal Germplasm Repository for Citrus and Dates) and replacement of chiller (U.S. Salinity Laboratory), as follows: 1. Replace existing 200 ton chiller w/ new 225 ton chiller. Provide piping modifications to install storage tank in chilled water system. Storage tank shall be located next to new chiller. Re-balance pumps to accommodate new flow. (Or Alternative High Efficiency solution.) (USSL) 2. Replace existing pressure reducing valve and re-set chilled water system operating pressure (USSL). 3. Greenhouses #1 - #4: Replace evaporative water circulating pumps and associated filters and piping, hot water finned tub heaters, compressed air systems, charcoal filters, and repair the existing evaporative cooling gutters in various efforts on each of the four greenhouse buildings (USSL). 4. Replace existing 4" evaporative cooling media and frames with new 8" media and frames. Replace the existing unit heaters. Correct the cross-over piping between the potable and greenhouse water systems (NCGRCD). ADDITIVE ITEMS: 1. Upgrade facility control system (USSL). 2. Manual zoning of evaporative water cooling systems in all four greenhouse buildings (USSL). 3. Overhead fertilized water distribution systm (NCGRCD). 4. Upgrade chiller controls (USSL). Complete set of specifications and plans are posted as of 23 March 2010. The estimated price range is between $500,000 and $1.000.000, inclusive of additive items. The NAICs code is 238220. The small business size standard is $14.0M. Site visit is scheduled for 7 April 2010 at 9:00 am. Contact Rick Sesuca (951)369-4871 for directions to site.
