Description
RECOVERY ACT - THE NASA GLENN RESEARCH CENTER (GRC) HAS BEEN AUTHORIZED UNDER THEAMERICAN RECOVERY AND REINVESTMENT ACT OF 2009 TO ISSUE A TASK ORDER FOR ENGINEERINGSUPPORT SERVICES UNDER A PREVIOUSLY COMPETITIVELY AWARDED CONTRACT NNC09BA16B.THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY.NASA Glenn Research Center has committed support specific efforts under the AmericanRecovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.Recovery Act funds for NASAs AeronauticsResearch Program will accelerate key research, enhance the state of aeronautics for thenation, and expand the viable and well-informed trade space for vehicle design decisionsand enable simultaneous realization of National noise, emissions, and performance goals. AM KINNEY, Cincinnati, Ohio, will be issued a task order off of existing contractNNC09I004T for services to provide engineering services to support enhancements to thePropulsion Systems Laboratory per NASAs Recovery Act Program Plan for AeronauticsResearch NASA Glenn Research Center is contracting for engineering services to complete the finalphase of the equipment and systems enhancements at the Propulsion Systems Laboratory,Building 125.. These engineering services encompass the design and developmental testingof systems to generate glaciated icing clouds within the Propulsion Systems Laboratoryfor the study aircraft engine performance when encountering icing conditions duringflight. Included in the scope is engineering support during construction of thesesystems and preparation of documentation of the constructed systems. These tasks supportthe overall project, creating a system capable of simulating altitude icing conditionsexperienced by aircraft during flight. By providing this icing simulation capability,NASA and its engine industry partners will be able to further the understanding ofeffects of icing conditions on engine performance and safety. This understanding iscritical to the development of safer and more reliable aircraft engine systems. This announcement will NOT result in a Request for Proposal. This announcement is forinformational purposes only. All questions and/or concerns must be submitted to the pointof contact contained herein in writing via e-mail to the following address:Erick.N.Lupson@nasa.gov.
