- Description
- The Social Security Administration(SSA) intends to solicit on a sole source basis, a proposal from, and issue a delivery order against the GSA Federal Supply Contract GS-25F-0010M of Pitney Bowes Inc. located in Baltimore MD for the purchase,installation, configuration, maintenance and training of the Arrival System including the Software and Hardware on 2 existing vendor supplied workstations(DM100). The installation and configuration of the Arrival System shall be carried out in a Development/Test environment. Once the installation is complete, the vendor shall train the staff on the new system including its integration into existing meter mail operations. The vendor shall also provide full maintenance on the software and hardware as required. In accordance with FAR Part 13.106-1(b)(1),Due to proprietary nature of this equipment and related software and hardware, the Contract Specialist has determined that the circumstances of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available. Patents and copyrights are owned exclusively by Pitney Bowes and have not been released to third party sources. Further the diagnostic software covered by the patents and copyrights have not been released to the third party sources either. SSA anticipates the award of a firm, fixed price purchase order for the additional equipment and maintenance performance period of June 2010 through May 2011. SSA shall issue a sole source award under FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. Responses to this notice shall be submitted by May 11, 2010. Requests for copies of a solicitation will not be honored or acknowledged.
