NSTec does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this RFI or otherwise pay for the information solicited. Questions & Answers: Q. What type of device are you looking for? A. A radiation detection system that utilizes high sensitivity detection media such as high purity germanium crystals to perform gamma spectroscopy. The system must detect gamma radiation and provide count rates and/or exposure rate. Q. Active or passive? A. Passive device Q. Pricing is based off of each customers volumes, so I will need a quantity range. A. 10-100. Q. You state "passive" but "electronic". By passive do you mean not requiring any user input? As in automatic? A. Passive meaning that information does not require active interrogation of an area. Meaning - it works like a metal detector that sits and waits for a signal. It does not pump anything into the air, send out electronic signals, or do anything else to alter the environment to get a reading.
