Description
On or about 19 May 2010, this office will issue Invitations for Bid for construction of the Rehabilitate Emergency and Service Gates and Replace Trash Rack, Chatfield Project, Littleton, CO. The solicitation will close on or about 22 June 2010. This solicitation is RESTRICTED TO SMALL BUSINESS PARTICIPATION. A tentative site visit date has been scheduled for 07 June 2010 at 10:30 A.M. Contractors interested in attending the site visit shall meet at the Tri-Lakes Project Office. DO NOT submit requests for plans and specifications to the site visit personnel listed above. See Obtaining Solicitation Documents below. Project Description: (Approx. quantities) Description of Project to be listed in the announcement: Both sets of service and emergency gates located inside the intake tower will be removed off site, cleaned, sandblasted and painted with an application of a new coal tar epoxy paint system. The gate frame, marine door and transition areas will also be rehabbed. The trash rack for the irrigation penstock will be replaced with a new trash rack and the existing trash rack will be rehabbed to be used as a backup. The existing trash rack will remain in place until the new one is fabricated. Once the new trash rack is finished, it will be necessary to switch trash racks, so that there will always be a trash rack in the slot. The estimated construction cost of this project is between $750,000 and $1,000,000. The Contractor will be required to commence work within 10 days after notice to proceed and complete the work 120 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed. Provisions will be included for liquidated damages in case of failure to complete the work in the time allowed. Performance and payment bonds will be required. Bonding documents including the power of attorney shall bear an original signature by an officer of the surety. Representations and certifications are required to be updated annually as a minimum to keep information current, accurate and complete. The electronic annual representations and certifications are effective until one year from date of submission or update to ORCA.
