Description
Interior Photo Exterior Photo Questions and Answers ROOF REPLACEMENT AT THE E. “KIKA” DE LA GARZA PLANT MATERIALS CENTER KINGSVILLE, TEXAS STATEMENT OF WORK: 1. The work covered by this proposal consists of the removal of the existing 50’ by 60’ metal roof, roof vents and exhaust blowers. Contractor will furnish all labor, equipment, and material to install new 26 gage (minimum) aluminum coated steel roof panels, along with the existing two roof ridge vents, gutters and roof rakes 2. Covering width and configuration of roof panels shall be the building manufacturer’s standard with all laps sealed to assure complete weather tightness. The panel is to be one piece from eave to ridge. 3. Roof panels shall be fastened to the purlins with weather-sealed type fasteners. Cadmium plated or equivalent colored fasteners are to be used and shall be adequately spaced to handle the roof load requirements. At eaves and ridge, panels must be fastened and caulked and/or flashed with necessary fascia and ridge cover to be completely weathertight. 4. The existing two (2) 10’ ridge vents with bird screens and dampers will be removed and then reinstalled by the contractor. The ridge vent dampers will be reinstalled to assure floor operated control. 5. Roof covering shall be designed for either 30 psf uniformly distributed or a 120-lb. concentrated point load located at center of maximum roofing panel span. 6. The wind load on the structure shall be 20 psf velocity pressure proportioned and applied as horizontal and uplift forces. 7. The combination of normal loads and auxiliary loads for design purposes shall be as prescribed and recommended by the Metal Building Manufacturers Association (MBMA) Metal Building Systems Manual. 8. Durability of the roof panels due to rupture, structural failure or perforation shall be guaranteed for a period of 20 years by the building manufacturer. A specimen copy of the document must accompany the offer, clearly stating the conditions under which the guarantee is valid.
