Description
Statement of Work Instructions to Quoters Reps and Certs SF-18 The National Marine Fisheries Science Center located at 17 Godfrey Drive, Orono, ME has a requirement for the services of an event coordinator to be the lead point person working with the festival planning committee and with partners in the Lower Penobascot Watershed Coalition to coordinate the Penobscot River Revival on the Bangor waterfront, which will be held on July 10, 2010. The Northeast Fisheries Science Center has had an integral role in organizing and running the annual Penobascot River Revival on the Bangor, ME waterfront. The Penobascot River Revival is an annual festival that celebrates anadromous fish and efforts to restore the health of the Penobascot River as well as fisheries-based cultural traditions. The Revival highlights the importance of diadromous fish to sustaining the ecosystem health and social traditions in the watershed, and celebrates longstanding river-dependent outdoor sporting and recreational pursuits. The goals of the festival are to inform the public about anadromous fish in the Penobascot watershed ecosystem; build community support in fisheries restoration, research efforts and river use of the Penobascot; and revive interest and raise awareness of outdoor recreation and cultural activities related to the Penobascot River in accordance with the attached Statement of Work.
