Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a construction contractor to completely prepare site for building operations, including demolition and removal of existing interior construction, furnish labor and materials, and perform work for the renovation of The Veterans Affairs Medical Center Womens Health Pavilion as required by drawings and specifications at the Department of VA Medical Center, 50 Irving Street NW, Washington, DC. This project shall cover the construction necessary to renovate the Womens Health Pavilion by relocating and expanding the existing 1,504 square foot clinic. This renovation project incorporates relocation and a 7,800 square foot expansion. Womens Health Pavilion work also includes general construction, alterations, mechanical and electrical work, laboratory/medical equipment, necessary removal of existing interior construction/systems and certain other items. The cost range for this service is between $2,000,000.00 to $5,000,000.00.The offeror shall obtain any and all necessary licenses or permits required to perform this work in the State of DC. The firm must be a General Construction firm approved under NAICS code 236210, size standard $33.5 million. This announcement is for competition for SDVOSB construction contractors. All responsible sources may submit a proposal, which will be considered by the Department of Veterans Affairs. Prospective contractors must be registered and current in the following websites: http://www.vip.vetbiz.gov, http://www.ccr.gov, and https://orca.bpn.gov to be eligible for award. The solicitation is scheduled as a sealed bid and price proposals will be accepted from only responsible and responsive contractors. The project duration is expected to be 150 days from the date of receipt of the notice to proceed. Electronic solicitation documents will be made available in electronic format only through the VA website at: http://www.fedbizopps.gov. It is recommended that you complete the solicitation mailing list on the website before downloading the solicitation. Solicitation documents will be available on or about Friday May 10, 2010. To schedule a pre-proposal conference /site visit please contact the Contracting Specialist via e-mail before May 17, 2010. The procurement is subject to the availability of funds. Proposals are due to the Contracting Specialist at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, 50 Irving Street NW, Washington, DC 20422, Room BH-132 by June 10, 2010 at 2:00PM local time (EDT).
