Description

This synopsis is for supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. The intended source is Smiths Detection-Edgewood Inc, 2202 Lakeside Blvd, Edgewood, Md. The following items will be procured: CLIN 0001: 6 each; Joint Chemical Agent Detector Increment1 (JCAD1) short data/power bifurcated cable CLIN 0002: 6 each; JCAD1 long data/power bifurcated cable CLIN 0003: 6 each JCAD1 Y data cable CLIN 0004: 6 each; JCAD1 3-Way power splitter cable The above items are required to be delivered on an FOB destination basis to Aberdeen Proving Ground, Md. The delivery schedule for these items is 30 days after contract award. These items are being procured on a firm fixed price basis. The above cables are Toxic Industrial Chemical Adapter (TIC-A) cables and allow for communication between the M88 Automatic Chemical Agent Alarm (ACADA) and the JCAD1 system. The government does not possess a technical data package for these items. Smiths Detection holds the data rights to the TIC-A, ACADA, and JCAD1 and as such is the only company capable of producing these items in the required timeframe. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation, which shall be considered by the agency
