- The contractor shall perform all construction work necessary for the replacement of the Offner Road Bridge KC-3 located on the Midewin National Tallgrass Prairie in Illinois. The Offner Road Bridge KC-3 replacement project is located approximately 5 miles northeast of Wilmington, Illinois on the Midewin National Tallgrass Prairie (formerly the Joliet Army Ammunition Plant) in Will County. The bridge is located on Road 1 North, near Offner Road approximately 3.5 miles east of Chicago Road (T-33-N, R-11-E, Section 6). This project will include the following general categories of work: construction of reinforced concrete supports for a new vehicular bridge; demolition and removal of the existing concrete bridge and abutments; installation of a new Timber Dowel Laminated Vehicular Bridge; installation of riprap for erosion control around the new structure and adjacent stream banks; and miscellaneous site work - approach grading, landscaping, fencing, seeding & mulching. Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportation and supplies, and perform all work required in accordance with drawings and specifications of the contract. This solicitation will be advertised as a total HUBZone set aside using a request for proposal format and a 20% bid bond will be required, as well as past performance data, for a firm-fixed price construction contract. This solicitation will only be available electronically at the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) website on approximately May 6, 2010. This project is estimated at between $100,000 and $250,000.
