- Description
- Under full and open competition, FISC Norfolk Contracting Department, Philadelphia office is seeking sources to provide accurate and timely Blood Bank testing services on behalf of National Naval Medical Center, Bethesda, Maryland. The services include daily courier pick-up of specimens (daily pick-up required to support the limited specimen shelf life) and performing a full range of blood donor diagnostic testing on Blood Bank Center specimens. Next day turn around time is required for the annual quantity of approximately 10,000 units of whole blood and 1000 units of platelet apheresis or plasma apheresis units. The Contractor shall then review and reconcile the test results and provide a reporting mechanism to deliver the results to the Requiring Activity. The tests must be performed utilizing the approved FDA requirements; in addition, the contractor must have the following certifications: AABB, CLIA (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments), and Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene office of Health Care Quality. This procurement is being conducted as a commercial item acquisition in accordance with FAR Part 12, using subpart 13.5 test program procedures. The award of a firm-fixed price contract is anticipated. Release of the Request for Quotes [RFQ] will be via the internet. Interested parties may download the RFQ upon its issuance to the following website: https://www.neco.navy.mil. Interested parties should frequently monitor the NECO website for any updates and /or amendments. The applicable North American Industry Classification System [NAICS] code is 621511. The anticipated performance period for this procurement will be 01 June 2010 [with a base period of 4 months] through 30 Sept 2014 [if four one-year options are exercised].
