- RECOVERY - This action is funded through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Actof 2009.<P>Recovery Task Order 1, titled Tilt Rotor Test Rig Development, supports NASA Recovery Actwork sponsored by the Aeronautics Research Mission Directorate.<P>Bell is responsible for the design, development and delivery to NASA Ames Research Centera Tiltrotor Test Rig (TTR) for use at the NASA Ames Research Center (ARC) wind tunneltest facility.The TTR shall enable testing single, approximately 25-ft diameter rotors,in the 40 by 80 Foot Wind Tunnel and 40-ft diameter rotors in the 80 by 120 Foot WindTunnel. The TTR will enable rotor operation in hover, edgewise, conversion, and airplanemodes through wind tunnel turntable rotation, to the maximum airspeeds in each testsection. The result of this task will enable next generation vertical lift aircraft withsubstantial performance and productivity improvements.<P>This award notice is for INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. The task order is issued under anexisting Cost Plus Fixed Fee contract NNA09DA55C, which was made on a competitive basis.Due to the nature of this work, a Cost Plus Fixed Fee task order was determinedappropriate.
