- Sources Sought Notice VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System has a requirement to purchase a surgical robotic system. The system must be one that the U. S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has cleared for use in urological surgical procedures, general laparoscopic surgical procedures, gynecologic laparoscopic surgical procedures, transoral otolaryngology surgical procedures restricted to benign and malignant tumors classified as T1 and T2, general thoracoscopic surgical procedures, and thoracoscopically assisted cardiotomy procedures. The system shall allow a physician to perform these surgical procedures on a patient without physically handling operating instruments. The system must consist of a patient unit with robotic arms that can manipulate operating instruments and camera units. The Contractor shall provide all materials, labor, supervision, test equipment, and manufacturing necessary to produce and install robotic surgical system. In addition, the vendor will be asked to provide pricing for Preventive Maintenance and Repair services for one (1) year after expiration of initial warranty with two (2) additional one (1) year options. This Sources Sought Notice is not a request for competitive proposals. It is not a solicitation or request for offers. No solicitation package is available. Responses must be received no later than 4:30 pm on April 22, 2010. No telephone or email inquiries will be accepted. All responses must be sent electronically to both: Michelle.Urso@va.gov and Sharon.Leszczynski@va.gov. All capable businesses are encouraged to respond. Responses should include: Company name, type/name of system, evidence of FDA approval, literature, and contact name and telephone number. NAICS code is 339112 size standard 500 employees.
