- J&A extension In accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 6, Other That Full and Open Competition, FAR 6.302-2 Unusual and compelling urgency, the United States Environmental Protection Agency, Region 3 intends to modify Contract No. EP-R3-05-01 with Four Seasons Environmental, Inc., for continuation of existing operation and maintenance services in support of Region 3's laboratory facility. The planned contract action represents a two-month "new work" extension of the contract, effective April 1, 2010 through May 31, 2010, and an additional two-month option period. The modification is necessary in order to ensure continuity of critical operational services at the EPA Region 3 laboratory. Award of the contracts has been delayed, which has necessitated that the above existing contract be extended until these awards can be made. It is in the best interest of the Government to extend the existing contract pending award of the follow-on contracts, which are currently under evaluation. This notice is not a request for proposals. A determination not to compete this proposed procurement based on response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
