- This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) page located at http://www.fbo.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line (NECO) site located at http://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the Internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the Naval Sea Systems Command. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation, proposals are being requested, and a written solicitation will not be issued. FAR Subpart 13.5 will be used. The solicitation number is N00178-10-R-1050. This acquisition is issued as a Request for Proposal (RFP). The proposed SMALL BUSINESS SET ASIDE contract action is for a 3-D printer and accessories brand name or equal to the C500/12 manufactured by Objet Geometries, Inc. The 3-D printer and accessories must meet the following minimum specifications: Simultaneous building with multiple materials with different physical and mechanical properties including rubber type material. Ability to blend build materials to create composite material with additional physical and mechanical properties PolyJet matrix technology. Multiple print mode capabilities to include: Quality mode for single material printing - 12mm/hr/strip with 16 micron-layer of thickness or better. Speed mode for single material printing - 20mm/hr/strip with 30 micron-layer of thickness or better. Approx 600 dpi x axes. Approx 600 dpi y axes. Approx 1600 dpi z axes - to ensure thin walls, fine details in all dimensions, smooth surface finishes, repeatability and accuracy.Ability to print multiple parts on single tray. Software should accommodate various material types, assemblies and multiple model characteristics. Build Envelope - minimum 19 x 15 x 7.5 inch. This notice is issued as a request for proposal. Any contractor proposing items other than those manufactured by Objet Geometries, Inc. shall provide documentation demonstrating that the alternative products meet or exceed the minimum specifications. The, Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) intends to procure CLIN 0001 QTY 1 3-D printer brand name or equal to the Connex 500/12 manufactured by Objet Geometries, Inc. to include a 12 month commercial warranty brand name or equal to Objet Geometries, Inc.'s OBJ-03001. CLIN 0002 QTY 1 software brand name or equivalent to Objet Geometries, Inc.'s SWN-00002, Objet Studio Software for Eden 250, 260 & 350/Connex 350 & 500 3D Printers CLIN 0003 QTY 1 installation and training brand name or equal to Objet Geometries, Inc.'s 300 and 500 OBJ-13028. CLIN 0004 QTY 1 cartridge brand name or equal to Objet Geometries, Inc.'s OBJ-03202 Jumbo Model FullCure 720 3.6kg cartridge CLIN 0005 QTY 1 cartridge brand name or equal to Objet Geometries, Inc.'s OBJ-03200 Jumbo Support-FullCure 705 3.6kg cartridge CLIN 0006 QTY 1 kit brand name or equal to Objet Geometries, Inc.'s KIT-13000 Supreme Start-up kit for Connex 350 & 500 3D Printers CLIN 0007 QTY 1 water jet brand name or equal to Objet Geometries, Inc.'s OBJ-03006 Water Jet 110V Large format - Warranty: 1 year on parts (excluding pump), 6 months on pump and CLIN 0008 QTY 1 kit brand name or equal t! o Objet Geometries, Inc.'s KIT-02021-S 4-pack SHR - Replacement Ink-Jet Heads Delivery shall be received no later than 15 June 2010. FOB Destination to Virginia Beach Virginia applies. The importance of price will increase with the degree of equality of the proposals in relation to the remaining evaluation factors.
