- Description
- The U. S. Botanic Garden (USBG) requirement includes complete window replacement for all 25 opening in the 77 year old USBG Administrative Building is near the Bartholdi Fountain in Washington D.C. The contractor shall provide all material and labor and equipment to replace 25 windows using the Hope’s Windows University Series heavy intermediate steel windows. There are 25 openings where the windows will be replaced. Each opening must be field measured. All ventilators are double side hung out casement ventilators with a center meeting rail. The windows include triple weather stripping applied to integral dovetail grooves, stainless steel exterior mounting grids with removable interior simulated divided lite mounting grids. Window hardware consists of side hung out casement ventilators hung on pivots, fitted with solid brass cam fasteners, friction adjusters and double bar adjusters at sill vents. A hardware sample will be provided for the selected bronze color selection. Glass shall be ¾”clear, laminated low-e and insulated. It is to be appropriately measured and sized for each window opening. Cap bead caulking’s and perimeter caulking’s color is to be determined by the USBG. The window frame’s color will also be determined by the USBG. The colors will be selected from Hope’s Windows approved colors. Thirty eight (38) stainless steel frame wicket screens with aluminum mesh are to be furnished. Samples provided by the contractor include a hardware sample, caulking sample and window frame color sample in accordance with the Submittal Procedures. Interested parties are encouraged to download and print the electronic version of the solicitation and attachments. It is the responsibility of the contractor to monitor the Architect of the Capitol (AOC) website for all amendments to solicitation RFP100046. This requirement is unrestricted and not set aside for Small Business. Delivery is required within 290 days after award. The AOC intends to obtain the steel casement windows through qualified installers approved by the Hope Window Company. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the AOC.
