- Description: The Fort Hood Directorate of Contracting intends to enter into a non-competitive interim contract with the incumbent contractor, WIMSCO Inc., 1301 S. Treadaway, Abilene, TX 79602 for the period of 1 May 2010 30 June 2010. The incumbent is a small business under NAICS 561730, Landscaping Services (Small Business Size Standard is $7M). The contract action calls for the contractor to provide all resources and management necessary to perform Grounds Maintenance services at Fort Hood, Texas. The resultant contract will be a firm fixed price purchase order. The current contract expires on 30 April 2010 and the service is critical to sustainment of performance during the procurement of the follow-on contract action. Award of this interim contract to another contractor would entail a significant effort to phase-in, and acclimate to the Fort Hood optempo for this brief period. It is therefore determined that there is good likelihood that a new contractor would suffer undue risk attempting to manage phase in and provide continued high level contract support, making the attempt costly and inefficient for all parties.
