Description
This is a presolicitation notice for the Department of Treasury, Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), Group Life Insurance. The OCC is seeking an experienced and qualified Contractor to underwrite and administer its group term life insurance program for its active and retired employees and their eligible dependants. OCC employees have the choice of electing coverage for their life insurance through the Federal Employee Government Life Insurance (FEGLI) program and/or through OCC's Group Life Insurance program. Employees can also elect to waive coverage under both programs. OCC Group Life Insurance currently consists of basic life insurance coverage and three types of optional life insurance programs. These optional programs include (1) optional employee coverage in $25,000 increments up to $400,000, (2) spouse coverage of 50% or 100% of the employee's basic life amount and (3) family coverage in multiples of $5,000 (partner) or $2,500 (child) up to $25,000 (partner) and $12,500 (child). The OCC and its employees share in the cost of premiums on the basic life insurance, however, optional coverage is the complete responsibility of the employee. The employee-share of insurance premiums is deducted from their bi-weekly pay on an after-tax basis. OCC group life does not include a disability waiver extension. All pre-existing conditions and illnesses are to be covered for currently enrolled employees and retirees, where applicable. Enrolled participants shall be immediately eligible for the plan upon its effective date. A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS OR REQUEST FOR QUOTES WILL BE POSTED ON OR ABOUT JUNE 15TH 2010. All responsible insurance carriers may submit questions to Andrea Lipiro by 4/27/10.
