- Synopsis THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY. The Department of Veterans Affairs San Diego Regional Office intends to award a sole source procurement to a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business under the authority of 38 USC 8127(b) and VAAR 819.7007. This constitutes the only announcement; and a written solicitation will not be issued. Description: The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veterans Benefits Administration, Vocational Rehabilitation & Employment Service (VR&E) has a requirement to provide Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment Services for the San Diego Regional Office. The area to service is: Area of coverage includes San Diego, Imperial, Orange and Riverside Counties: To include outlying areas such as Blythe, Palm Springs and Palm Desert. Also area Military bases including Camp Pendleton, Naval Station San Diego, Point Loma, North Island NAS, Miramar MCAS, and MCRD. The VR&E Service requirement is as follows: Educational and Vocational Counseling (Chapter 36 and Chapter 35). The Contractor will assist Service members and Veterans to establish employment objectives and outline career counseling/education required to achieve their educational/vocational goals. The training, rehabilitation, and employment needs shall be addressed by the Contractor for Service Members and Veterans receiving Chapter 36 services and to Dependents receiving Chapter 35 services. The VA intends to award one contract for the above-mentioned service/requirement. The contract will be a performance based fixed price contract. The period of performance for the awarded contract will be forty-five (45) calendar days, with an estimated start date of April 23, 2010. The dollar value of the award will be $294,650.00. THIS REQUIREMENT IS SOLE SOURCE FOR A SERVICE DISABLED VETERAN OWNED CONCERN. Award will be made on a sole source basis to Veterans Transition Services, a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), in accordance with VAAR 819.7007. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 624310 and the size standard is $7 million. The Classification Code is R. Telephonic inquires will not be accepted.
