- This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) page located at http://www.fbo.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line (NECO) site located at https://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the Internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the Naval Sea Systems Command. The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division intends to procure on a sole source basis one (1) new VMU 1379 magnetron, modify one (1) VMS 1178 magnetron to a VMS 2071 magnetron, and modify one (1) VMU 1039 magnetron to a VMU 1379 magnetron. The VMS 1178 and VMU 1039 must be modified by the OEM. The items will be procured and modified on a sole source manufacturer's basis from Communication and Power Industries, Inc. (CPI), 150 Sohier Road, Beverly, Massachusetts 01915-5595. CLIN 0001-- One (1) Part No. VMU 1379 magnetron per VMU 1379 specification documentation; CLIN 0002 - Modify one (1) existing VMS 1178 magnetron to VMS 2071 magnetron (Frequency 3.1 GHZ to 3.5 GHZ) per VMS 2071 specification documentation; CLIN 0003 - Modify one (1) existing VMU 1039 magnetron to VMU 1379 magnetron (Frequency 15.5 GHZ to 17.5 GHZ) per VMU 1379 specification documentation. The magnetrons are utilized in four different high powered pulsed transmitters for HERO and EMV testing in the Reverb Chamber, Anechoic Chamber and ground plane facilities. Each of these transmitters has filament supplies, waveguide connections, cooling systems and de-spiking networks that are designed to accommodate each of the magnetrons unique physical and electrical specifications. All of the magnetrons were built to specifically fit the high powered transmitter and only an exact replacement from CPI will meet all the criteria. The Request For Quote (RFQ) Number is N00178-10-Q-3532. The required delivery is 6 months after receipt of order. Award is to be made under Simplified Acquisition Procedures in accordance with FAR 13 as a Firm Fixed Price purchase order. DFAR 252..211-7003 Item Identification and Valuation is applicable to this purchase. The NAICS Code is 334411 and the FSC Code is 5960. Pricing will be FOB Destination to the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division, 6220 Tisdale Road, Suite 159, Dahlgren, Virginia 22448-5114. Therefore, the quote must include all applicable shipping charges. THIS ANNOUNCEMENT CONSITUTES THE ONLY REQUEST FOR QUOTATION, AS ALL ITEMS ARE SPECIFIED UNDER THIS NOTICE. The closing date is 20 April 2010, 12 Noon local time. Anticipated award date is 26 April 2010.
