Description
RECOVERY ACTION: Demolition and disposition of Building K-33 disposition includes: mobilization and demobilization, transite siding removal, building demolition to the slab; and packaging and transportation of all associated wastes to onsite waste disposal facilities operated by DOE. The K-33 facility is a partially decontaminated and degraded multi-story building located in the northwest corner of the ETTP. It encompasses more than 1.4 million square feet and is primarily constructed of concrete and steel, with most of the exterior covered by corrugated transite. The facility was constructed in 1954 as a uranium enrichment facility and was operated from 1954 to 1985. Today, the K-33 facility still contains radiological and chemical contamination, hazardous wastes, asbestos, and polychlorinated biphenyl's (PCB) contamination. DUNS 192272396 Rationale for using other than a fixed price and/or competitive award: To reduce the time it would take to procure the required services DOE awarded this task order under the existing EM Nationwide Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (ID/IQ) Multiple Award Task Order Contracts.-These contracts help to stream line the competitive acquisition process and minimize the time it takes to procure the required services than if they were procured under full and open competition.
