Description

The VAMC Spokane, WA intends to award a sole source contract to Alcon Surgical Inc, PO Box 6380, Fort Worth, TX 76115, to replace expendable items which are used when performing Ophthalmologic (Cataract) Surgery. The NAICS code for the procurement is 339112 Surgical and Medical Instrument Manufacturing with a size standard of 500 employees. The Government believes that only Alcon Surgical Inc, equipment is 100% fully compatible with the existing Alcon Infinity System Model # 210-000-503, hardware, software and equipment. This is a sole source procurement under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures, 38 U.S.C. 8153 and Other Than Full and Open Competition (FAR 6.302-1). This notice of intent is NOT a request for competitive quotes however; any firm that believes its equipment is 100% fully compatible with the existing Alcon equipment, may give written notification to the Purchasing Agent, VAMC Spokane, WA. 4815 N Assembly St, Spokane, WA., no later than 2:00 PM PDT, April 22, 2010. :Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail, to the above listed address, Martin Steele, Purchasing Agent martin.steele@va.gov or faxed to (509) 434-7101. Responses received will be evaluated; however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, VA will proceed with the sole source award to Alcon Surgical Inc..
