- Description
- The Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest is seeking an contractor to peform Cave resource assessments. These assessments will be conducted for twenty caves on Forest Service lands in White Pine County, NV. The assessments will focus on biologic inventories but include cave surveys and archaeological, geological and paleontological inventories. Invertebrate species composition and distribution lists will be compiled for each cave from the field inventories. Taxonomic analyses and voucher processing will be completed in the laboratory. Digital maps will be created with survey data. Cave-specific management recommendations and taxon-specific monitoring protocols will be developed based on the species composition lists derived from each cave. All work shall be done under a single contract.
