- Description
- NASA/KSC plans to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP)] for GROUND ELEMENTS COMMANDCONTROL AND COMMUNICATIONS RECORDING AND RETRIEVAL SYSTEM.NASA seeks to acquire a multi-site data storage system for the next generation LaunchControl System (LCS) under development at the Kennedy Space Center (KSC). The LCS willbe used to perform testing, control, and monitoring of spacecraft, launch vehicles, andassociated ground support equipment during pre-launch processing and final launchcountdown for payloads being launched from KSC. A key element of the LCS will be theRecording and Retrieval (R&R) system used to record a wide variety of data associatedwith ground processing and to support retrievals and archiving of the recorded data. The Government does not intend to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.See Note26.The NAICS Code and Size Standard are 334111 and 1,000, respectively. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.The anticipated release date of the RFP is on or about April 30, 2010 with an anticipatedoffer due date of on or about May 31, 2010.[OMBUDSMAN STATEMENT IS REQUIRED]An ombudsman has been appointed -- See NASA Specific Note 'B'.The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement will be available over theInternet. These documents will reside on a World Wide Web (WWW) server, which may beaccessed using a WWW browser application.
