- The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Region 3, Division of Construction and Acquisition at Ft. Snelling, Minnesota, under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 intends to procure on a sole-source basis to DeTect, Inc., of Panama City, Florida. The procurement includes two MERLIN XS2530e Avian Radar Systems complete with all mechanical and technical components, custom-built trailer, software and technical support for detecting migratory birds and bats in support of wind power siting, aviation hazard avoidance and sientific study. MERLIN is the only bird radar system to be fully tested with full detection and tracking performance validated and certified for operational use by a government science agency. DeTect, Inc. is the only known source for the distribution and Manufacturing of the MERLIN Avian Radar System.
