Department of Veterans Affairs, Office of Information & Technology (OI&T), Veterans Health Administration (VHA), Office of Health Information (OHI), VHA Innovation Program Strategic Incubation Initiative-- Development of a Chemotherapy Ordering Management System THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION ANNOUNCEMENT. THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY. THE PURPOSE OF THIS ANNOUNCEMENT IS FOR MARKET RESEARCH PURPOSES ONLY. RESPONSES TO THIS ANNOUNCEMENT WILL BE USED BY THE GOVERNMENT TO MAKE APPROPRIATE ACQUISITION DECISIONS. A SUBSEQUENT SOLICITATION ANNOUNCEMENT MAY FOLLOW. RESPONSES TO THIS ANNOUNCEMENT WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED AS AN ADEQUATE RESPONSE TO ANY FUTURE ANNOUNCEMENT. This is a Sources Sought for the development of a Chemotherapy Ordering Management System. The contractor shall develop a software code prototype that could ultimately be passed to VA's OI&T organization for possible nationwide implementation. This innovative project will be an iterative progression of software code development to create modules of functionality using rapid and agile development methodologies which allow numerous user reviews and interactions of software code throughout the life of the contract to continually gain and gage user/provider input driving to the best user centered product possible. The goal is to ultimately develop a software code prototype, Chemotherapy Ordering Management System, in collaboration with the VHA Innovations program; through an iterative progression of code development to create modules of functionality using rapid and agile development methodologies which allow numerous user reviews and interactions of software code throughout the life of the contract to continually gain and gage user/provider input driving to the best user centered product possible. This acquisition focuses on healthcare information, medical informatics, and HIT expertise specific to the topic, and applied to the problem to assist the VHA to initiate collaborative IT solution development. The Chemotherapy Ordering Management System shall be an automated ordering and management process available in the VHA clinical practice setting to accommodate the unique needs of chemotherapy ordering. The Chemotherapy Ordering Management System shall enhance and standardize capabilities to meet direct entry of chemotherapy orders needs of the oncology practice. It shall interface and interact with existing, applicable VHA health care systems, module and processes and CPRS/ Vista database. Place of Performance: The place of performance shall be provided at the Contractor's facilities within the Continental United States (CONUS) and/or at VA Headquarters in Washington DC.
