- Description
- The work includes bucket dredging of mud and silt material into barge or scow at the Piers 55-59, quay wall, coves A and B, and the entrance channel at Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek-Fort Story (Little Creek Site), Virginia Beach, Virginia. Deposition of material shall be by self-dumping scow or barge to the Rehandling Basin of Craney Island OR by pipeline discharge from the barge or scow into the upland portion of the Craney Island Dredged Material Management Area at United States Army Corps of Engineers Craney Island Project, Portsmouth, Virginia and incidental related work. Some of the material at the Little Creek Marina/Drydock is contaminated and requires special handling. The contractor shall bucket dredge the material to the indicated depths and dispose of the material at a selected upland disposal location for special handling. The work also includes four (4) bid options for the following work/locations: 1) additional price for deposition of dredged material, approximately 495,291 cubic feet, in the event that deposition into the Rehandling Basin at Craney Island is not permitted; 2) bucket dredge and barge, approximately 13,978 cubic yards, of Category "A" material from the Little Creek Marina including addition and mixing of solidifying/drying agent; 3) bucket dredge and barge, approximately 25,501 cubic yards, of Category "B" material from the Little Creek Marina including addition and mixing of solidifying/drying agent; and 4) bucket dredge and barge, approximately 311,460 cubic yards, of material from Little Creek entrance channel outer edges. The approximate solicitation release date is 27 April 2010. The estimated cost range is between $10,000,000.00 and $25,000,000.00. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 237990 and the size standard is $20,000,000.00. Bidders shall submit with the bid a 20% bid bond, not to exceed $3,000,000.00, with their bid. The solicitation is an unrestricted procurement. Large business concerns are required to submit a subcontracting plan prior to award of the contract. This will be a firm fixed price contract and the performance period will be two hundred seventy (270) calendar days after notice of award. This solicitation is available in electronic format only.
